Hydril Pressure Control's Wireline Shear Ram maintains the functionality of other blind shears, but when it comes time to use completion tools or DST tools in the well, it goes beyond normal shearing standards to reliably cut through braided wireline, common sizes of drillpipe, hydraulic control lines, or various combinations of these. Plus, it can do all of this using existing BOP cavities, without any modification required. Used in Hydril Pressure Control's 18-15 Compact or Conventional Ram BOPs, the Wireline Shear has been designed to include features such as:

• No rework of the BOP cavity required; wireline shears are retrofittable to existing BOPs.
• Patented interlocking design maintains the tight tolerance gap required to shear braided wireline cables and also allows the cutting of pipe sizes handled by conventional blind shear rams.
